Breakfast: coarse cut oatmeal with raw honey, whole milk, cream, raisins, almonds. water and pills.
Snack: cranberry zinger tea
Lunch: tuna with safflower mayonnaise. banana. green beans. water.
Dinner: chicken stir-fry with "thai" stir-fry veggies and a sauce I made that was basically 2 parts soy sauce to one part agave syrup. brown basmati rice. water.
Snack: 1/2 enchilada left over from last night. water and pills.
Analysis: not terrible today. the veggie portions at dinner were a little small compared to the amount of chicken. I did not feel as hungry in between meals today, hence the minimal snacking. Not sure if that's good or not, because I know its better to eat more frequently. That's ok though, I am definitely only eating when I am hungry (but not denying myself if I am!)
I did my pilates again today, which felt really good. I hope I can keep it up - its just a matter of making it a priority and remembering to do it! Its only 20 minutes, seriously, I have the time! I used to do it every day and I am starting to remember/realize how nice it was...
I have all these ideas for posts I want to do but I am trying to space them out and only do them when I really have the time... that way we'll always have new stuff to talk about, and also I won't be tempted to spend inordinate amounts of time blogging until I get everything out of my head. All in good time... If you have anything you want me to talk about specifically, let me know!
Underwhelming and overpriced

You're right this takes time, but it sure is fun. OK, I am taking little steps like cutting down on my coffee. I won't cut out my morning cup but instead of making a cup for dinner, I actually just drank a cup of water. Wow. I went to the store this morning and bought some packets of Truvia. I'd never heard of it. It tastes just as good as Splenda/Equal or better. I guess it will do until I learn to wean off the sweetness altogether. Instead of coffee right now I made a cup of tropical grapefruit tea with Truvia. It is great and who knows, maybe I will sleep better.
ReplyDeleteI didn't really cheat much today but did have an ounce or so of white wine and champaign. It was choir directors birthday. Someone brought a veggie plate so I ate celery, carrots, cucumbers, and zucchini without the dip. Then (you'll be surprised) I avoided the moist white cake with coconut frosting. I didn't even miss it I'm so sugared out. I also bought some string cheese (NOT low fat)to eat with my carb snacks.
Guess what else. To reward us, the boss sent the IN N Out truck to the hospital today and the whole hospital had it for lunch. Not me! I had already brought my lunch and salad and just ate with my coworkers while they had chips and double cheeseburgers. I could have had a protein burger but I had my JC food and don't want to overdo it now.
Little by little, baby steps at a time. We'll get there. I am amazed at the large variety of interesting things you think of eating. I can never think of those things.
Gotta go....Love, Mom
Wow Mary, I'm impressed. Turning down cake is one thing, but turning down In N Out?! That's dedication!
ReplyDeleteYeah, Mom, it sounds like you did great! I am so glad you like the Stevia - for anyone that doesn't know, it is a natural sweetener you can use instead of Equal/Splenda. You can get it in similar little packets for convenience. I should write a post about that sometime!
